ELEMENTOS

In Elements, a reflexion about the territory in the lens of human occupation, the exploitation of its limited resources, its boundaries and geographic borders is explored, along with their inherent social dynamics. It’s a dialogue between multiple forms of organization, in an effort to understand notions like centre and periphery, openness or closure, expansion or retraction. Questioning in which way we can understand some of these notions in a moment of great social, economical, political and environmental transformations.

Wax and transfer paper act together in this context as matter which allow to explore not only drawing in space in an architectural scale but also encaustics and print on smaller media. Due to their lightweight and insubstantial nature they imprint in this body of work a possibility to be stored in small containers for ease of transportation and (re-) structured in other places, originating new dialogues and experiences of spatial occupation.
